Defy

Defy is a Sydney based design and manufacturing studio specialising in furniture and surfaces made from 100% recycled plastic. At the core of their work are HDPE panels produced from locally sourced post consumer waste, transformed into durable, visually distinctive materials and finished products. Designed and made in Australia, Defy’s collections celebrate the colour variation and texture of recycled plastic while delivering robust performance for commercial and public spaces.

Working from their factory in Botany, Defy manages the entire process in house, from sorting and recycling plastic waste through to panel production and finished manufacturing. Their design led approach prioritises circularity from the outset, ensuring materials remain in use and can be returned, reprocessed and remade at end of life.
