HOW Group supplied commercial furniture for Gilchrist Connell’s Melbourne workplace at 530 Collins Street, supporting a full workplace fitout that balances client facing presentation with the functional needs of a growing national legal practice. The 1000 square metre office forms the first stage of a broader national rollout and sets the design direction for future workplaces across Australia.

The project required a workplace that reflected the professionalism of a leading commercial law firm while still feeling welcoming and practical for day to day use. The space needed to support a mix of client meetings, collaborative work and focused legal practice, with flexibility to adapt as the firm continues to grow.

Durability, comfort and acoustic performance were key considerations, alongside a consistent material and furniture language that aligned with the broader design intent of the building.

HOW Group delivered a range of commercial furniture solutions across workstation, meeting and collaboration areas, supporting both the operational and client facing elements of the workplace.

Workstation areas were fitted with Adapt Workstations, paired with Urban Task Chairs and Mobile Pedestals to support ergonomic performance and day to day flexibility. The focus was on creating efficient, well resolved work settings that support long hours of concentrated legal work.

Meeting and visitor areas were furnished with Meta Chairs by Advanta, Arc Visitor Chairs and OL Chairs, providing a balance of comfort and visual consistency across formal and informal spaces. Flip Tables and D End Disc Base Tables were used across meeting rooms and collaboration zones to support flexibility for different meeting formats and group sizes.

Across the project, the furniture selection was guided by durability and long term usability, aligning with the broader intent of creating a workplace that can evolve with the firm over time while maintaining a consistent standard of quality.

The completed Gilchrist Connell workplace delivers a refined and functional environment that supports both client engagement and focused legal work, underpinned by durable furniture solutions designed for long term performance and adaptability.
